Create your B-Portfolio today!

Each student should have a B-Portfolio!

Each learner should have an E-Portfolio or B-Portfolio!

B-Portfolios, Blogging Portfolios, or Blog Portfolios are just another way of building your online E-Portfolio.

By registering your blog account, you will have full control/ownership over your own personal content management system because your blog account is not restricted to an institutional server or institutional rules.

B-Portfolios have advantages for learning institutions which could now focus on teaching and learning without the need for budgeting funds or maintaining complex e-portfolio systems and servers.

Learners/Bloggers could share their current learning online and have a further advantage to continue using their blogs even after completion of a learning program.

I recommend beginner learners to start building their B-Portfolios using EduBlogs. There are also other options (E.g. WordPress and Blogger) available on the Web.

Happy b-portfolio’ing!

Each student should have a E-Portfolio!

Like Facebook is used to showcase your social status online, your e-portfolio is used to showcase and to articulate your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) online.

Your e-portfolio allows you to showcase your learning achievements, work experience, acquired expertise, practical skills, competencies, collaborative growth, self reflection and own ideas over time. Your e-portfolio is all about you, your work and it helps you to monitor your own performance and growth.

E-portfolios can be seen as a supporting tool to help encouraging you to take responsibility of your own continuing professional development and to demonstrate your ability to collect, interpret, organize, and self reflection on learning and practice.

Lately most Higher Educational Institutions worldwide allow students to create e-portfolios on their Intranet which may be open to the World Wide Web. These e-portfolios are sometimes restricted and controlled and monitored by the institution for assessment purposes. Besides the institutional e-portfolio systems, you may also create your own e-portfolio online without the restrictions of educational institutions.

The earlier in life you start building your e-portfolio the better. Displaying your work online is motivational to yourself and also to others reading your e-portfolio. It is easy to periodically update your portfolio; it can be easily reproduced at almost no cost on CD’s, DVD’s, email, printouts, and on the Web. You may also create and host your resume/ curriculum vitae with your e-portfolio.

Some e-portfolio systems include privacy settings to control who can view your e-portfolio or certain parts of it.

Start building your e-portfolio today. It is FREE!
